With only one LP side of new Beatles songs and one LP side with the filmmusic by
George Martin, the original album had not much impact musically.
But, the Yellow Submarine cartoon film was a success, just as the accompanying single Yellow Submarine wich was a huge hit with many, often translated, cover versions.
The submarine as a yellow thing and the story behind it had impact on people's minds.
